Ethereal Landscapes

 

One of the most beautiful scenes which I have ever seen was when I was walking in the Araku valley. After climbing to a higher level, I saw that the sun was setting behind a range of sharp peaks. The sky was  a bright blue and within a  few minutes, it turned to a warm orange, pinkish hue mixed with blue. The mountains received the last touches of the sun that transformed them into black outlines against the darkening sky, great mountains and stillness. Beauty, as far as I can tell, is not so much in the appearance as it is in the impact of a certain object on one’s feelings and perception of reality. At that time the breathtaking view of the natural environment, the bright colours of the sunset provide a great feeling of tranquillity. Beauty is a combination of what one sees, feels and hears as well as possible a cultural or historical background that enriches one’s experience of the moment. I guess that beauty is a balance of forms and beauty that exist within the perceived nature.
